The Ontario government announced an additional $1.6 billion for municipalities to hopefully address delays in new housing construction. The money is being added to an existing program, as the government continues to consult with Ontario mayors about the program. Part of the reasoning is Ontario continues to fall behind on new construction, however some mayors are expressing some skepticism if the province doesn’t address existing issues with the program.
